About Improbable

At Improbable, we believe that the next revolution in entertainment and society will come from massive virtual worlds. Your Team

You will be part of the Metaverse Solutions group, the premier organisation for servicing and solving the problems of our metaverse. You will be working alongside experienced game developers familiar with all aspects of the game development lifecycle, including production, art, design, technology and operations. You will be working with notable names from the industry who are our partners and customers. As this is a growing area of Improbable, you will be directly involved in shaping both the technical and commercial direction of how metaverse experiences are developed and launched.

Your Role

We are looking for someone who is looking to apply their game development skills, including but not limited to implementing game mechanics, game systems, character / camera / controls, artificial intelligence / pathfinding, procedural content generation and other gameplay related specialties to the range of metaverse projects that we have.

We'd like to hear from you if you identify with and/or possess the following:

    • You will use your extensive experience working on distributed systems and infrastructure-as-a-service to help Improbable build systems that are operable, scalable and reliable.
    • Working knowledge and experience with web technologies, including load / scale testing, authentication, security, databases and online services.
    • You will use your experience to help set and define the technical direction for the teams that you work with, both internal and external stakeholders.
    • You will help accelerate our customers ability to deliver multiplayer games and supporting services.
    • You will contribute towards defining the platform and projects within our game operating unit, ultimately helping enable the creation of multiplayer games.
    • Extensive experience working on large scale distributed systems and operating platforms.
    • Experience working with containerization technologies like Docker & Kubernetes
    • Experience working with Cloud Infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or any other large scale cloud platforms
    • Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing engineers.
While we think the above experience could be important, we’re keen to hear from people that believe they have valuable experience to bring to the role. If you identify with the team and mission, but not all of our requirements, then please still apply. This is a very open ended role, and we are more interested in someone with the right mindset than specific experience.
